Melinin in the Millenium
is a photographic project conceived, produced and directed by Sandy Ward. This
project is documenting the evolving face of America, a small but rapidly growing
group, blended children. Her intent is to photograph and interview children
from ages 16 to 23 whose parents are from at least two different ethnic backgrounds.
Overall, the photos will try to capture the contemporary culture of these young
people through the uniqueness in the variety of activities that influence their
lives--dress, music, film, education, etc. The youth in this photo gallery are
students at Simon Rock College at Bard, who, in place of completing their last
two years in high school. attended and finished their first two years of college.
