Poor People's Economic
Human Rights Campaign - March for Our Lives 2003
The Kensington
Welfare Rights Union (KWRU) began a Poor People's March in tribute to the
35th anniversary of the Poor people's March, conceived by Martin Luther King
and completed
by the SCLC led by Ralph Abernathy. The KWRU march replicating much of the original,
began
in Marks Mississippi on 8/2/03 and arrived in D.C.on 8/23, pitching tents on
the Mall.
