This autumn, Philadelphia hosted a month long Disabilities Arts & Culture festival highlighting the creative capacities of disabled artists and performers. Within this context, Creative Access, a Deaf advocacy organization led by Carol Finkle, organized an array of events featuring Deaf performers, artists and entertainers including actors, musicians, magicians, comedians, dancers, storytellers, poets and carnival performers. They came from all parts of the US and England. These photos document some of the performances, but, hopefully, also the captures the intermingling of performers and audience so endemic to Deaf culture.
